With domestic and small office shredders it is important to be particularly careful to remove all metal such as paper clips, staples and binders as these can quickly damage and blunt the shredder.

There can also be a greater danger – metal fragments! Removing these from a few pages is not an issue, but when you have boxes and boxes of confidential papers, the cost in time and effort can be enormous, not to mention the cost for new shredders.
